The Tear Drop LED Series is styled to replicate the "teardrop" luminaires that lighted boulevards in the first half of this century. Desigined for light control and ease of installation and maintenance, Tear Drop LED Series luminaires have a precision optical system for true street lighting performance. Modular design utilizes many of the key components of the current HID version. Specifically the glass optical lens is fully compatible and thus a reliably engineered conversion can be obtained with existing HID Tear Drop installations by simply replacing the "heart" of the housing only.

The optical system consists of 100 or 136 high output LEDs with a dedicated thermal management system, highly polished reflector and prismatic glass refractor. The entire optical assembly has been optimized to maximize pole spacings while maintaining uniformity & control. Utilizes a one-piece EPDM gasket with a totally sealed, IP Rated optical chamber. Available in assymetric distributions.

The robust cast aluminum housing provides a sealed enclosure for the electronic driver and LED array. All models utilize heavy duty hinges and tool-less latches for access to the optical compartment and the driver housing. Wiring chamber has a 1.5" gasketed, NPT threaded entry for pendant mounting. A stainless steel set screw locks the unit in position. A three-station terminal block accepts #16 through #8 wires and is prewired to one half of the plug assembly that connects to the removable electric module.

The cast aluminum door supports a teardrop, bowl or sag shaped borosilicate glass refractor that controls the light to provide an asymmetric cut off distribution. The combination of reflector and refractor maximizes efficiency and uniformity of illumination while controlling luminaire brightness. Optional decorative skirt is latched by stainless steel captive wing nut assembly.

The luminaire is finished with polyester powder paint applied after a pretreatment process to provide maximum durability. The finish shall pass the 1000 hour salt fog test per ATSM standard B117.

The luminaire is CSA and UL listed as suitable for wet locations up to 40°C ambient temperature, depending on wattage. The luminaire is IP66 rated.
