Holophane’s ROAM Wins Innovation Award at LightFair 2007 ROAM Streetlight Monitoring and Control solution recognized By Industry Peers

(Newark, Ohio - June 2007) Holophane, an Acuity Brands Lighting Company, a leading provider of lighting worldwide, won a major award for ROAM (Remote Operations Asset Management) at the Lightfair International 2007 show held in New York in May.

Each year, Lightfair International recognizes the lighting industry’s most innovative products and solutions. Holophane’s entry, ROAM received Lightfair’s Innovation Award for “Best of Category” in the area of Controls, Daylight Integration, and Systems.

ROAM is leading technology designed to remotely monitor and control street and area lighting assets, assisting owners and operators in proactively identifying and resolving light fixture problems including outages. The ROAM solution combines intelligent photocontrols, wireless communications, M2M and mobility technologies, and network management services to establish connectivity between lighting systems and their owners/operators.

Terry Utterback, Acuity’s VP for the ROAM product line, gives a lot of credit for the award to technology partner, Guardian Networks. “We are proud to be recognized for this achievement and Guardian Networks has been a huge contributor to all of our success on the ROAM team,” said Utterback. Their remote asset management expertise coupled with our Lighting experience has proved to be a great match, and has helped launch us ahead of the competition.

Guardian CEO Ted Russ was pleased with the industry recognition of the new ROAM solution: “We are extremely proud to have teamed with Holophane and Acuity Brands Lighting in the development and launch of their ROAM solution. It is the perfect application of Guardian’s remote asset management expertise…This award is an invigorating confirmation of the strength of the Holophane/Guardian team and we are looking forward to many more successes together.”
