Areas where frequent wash downs are required to prevent bacteria growth or harborage of other contaminants are considered splash zone. Luminaires installed in this application are sealed and gasketed and must be durable enough to withstand high pressure wash downs and resist corrosion due to the use of caustic cleaning solutions and agents.
