Lighting for Security & Crime Deterrence

A 2½-day program designed for owners, lighting designers, engineering consultants, facility managers, and others involved with selection of exterior lighting systems for the security of people and property. The seminar is registered for 8 Learning Units (HSW) with AIA, 8 PDHs with NCEES, and qualifies for 8 NCQLP Lighting Education Units (LEUs). |

An overview of the principles of security lighting, including the equipment used. Each attendee will receive a copy of IES’s G-1-03, Guideline on Security Lighting for People, Property, and Public Spaces. |

David Salmon, PhD, is a well known and well respected expert in safety, security, and law enforcement. He is an FBI-trained criminal profiler and has extensive experience in risk management and defending governments and corporations in civil litigation. Dr. Salmon served as chair of the IESNA’s Security Lighting Committee during the writing of Guideline G-1-03. Perry Wolfe has 38 years’ experience in closed-circuit television and computer based security systems, including work for the United States Capitol and Houses of Congress, US nuclear power plants, and integrated video solutions for security and transportation congestion management. |
