High Mast System "markets" travel centers
Light serves as a marketing tool for Pilot Travel Centers located alongside interstates throughout the nation, this one in Dallas, Texas. A HMS high mast system from Holophane Lighting, Inc. ensures that potential customers see the centers from the interstate and that the high traffic areas are safe and secure.
The truck parking lot in most Pilot Travel Centers is illuminated with a single HMS high mast system, with lowering device, from Holophane Lighting, Inc. Larger, nine-acre sites use two poles. In each instance, the high mast system concentrates the lighting where it is needed using six to nine fixtures with 1,000 watt metal halide lamps mounted on 100-foot poles.
To aid in designing Pilot Travel Centers' truck parking lots, Holophane Lighting, Inc. provides Pilot Corporation, with an illumination plan using Computer Aided Lighting Analysis (CALA) software. The plan not only indicates pole placement for the Holophane HMS high mast system, but the number of fixtures needed per pole as well. Illumination levels are a minimum of 1 footcandle.
